What Donoor gives your association

0% commission

No Donoor subscription or commission. Only Stripe's fees apply, and your donors can choose to cover them.

The money goes to your association

Donations arrive in your association's Stripe account, then in its bank account. Donoor never holds the funds.

Everything in one place

Fundraisers, payment links, ticketing, memberships with a member card, a shop and monthly donations, on the web and in the app.

Tax-deductible donations, with no extra work

If your association is on the Ministry of Finance (BMF) list of eligible organisations, Donoor tells your donors and prepares, every year, the data to send to the tax office.

  • Your donation pages announce a donation deductible from taxable income (up to 50% depending on income), once your number has been found in the Ministry of Finance's daily list and approved by the Donoor team; Donoor checks it again every night.
  • After their donation (thank-you page, email or donor space), a donor who wants the deduction gives their first name, last name and date of birth, spelled as on their Meldezettel; they can also refuse the transfer.
  • Once the year is over, Donoor prepares the list of totals per donor (spreadsheet and PDF), which your association sends to the tax office through FinanzOnline before the end of February; reminders on 15 January and 15 February.
  • EPS, card, Apple Pay and Google Pay: your donors pay the way they are used to.

Frequently asked questions

Is Donoor available for Austrian associations?

Yes. Any association based in Austria (sports club, cultural, social or parents' association, religious community) creates its account, accepts donations by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or EPS, and uses fundraisers, QR codes, ticketing and memberships. The website and the app are available in German.

How much does Donoor cost an association?

Nothing: no subscription and 0% Donoor commission. Only Stripe's fees apply, for example 1.6% + €0.25 for a donation by EPS, and your donors can choose to cover them.

What is EPS?

EPS (eps-Überweisung) is the online transfer of Austrian banks: the donor confirms the payment in their banking app. Donoor offers it by default to donors located in Austria, for one-off donations of at least €1. You can switch it off in your settings.

How does Donoor check my association?

With its ZVR number, the number given to it by the central register of associations (Zentrales Vereinsregister): Donoor reads the official register extract and finds its name and registered office there. A body without a ZVR number, for example a parish or a public-law religious community, is checked by the Donoor team.

Are monthly donations possible?

Yes, by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay: donors manage their monthly donation themselves. EPS is only used for one-off donations.

Is a donation to my association tax-deductible in Austria?

Yes, if your association is on the Ministry of Finance (BMF) list of eligible organisations: Donoor looks up your number there every day, and the Donoor team approves it. Since 2024, every public-benefit purpose can lead there: sport, education, culture, social work, nature, animal welfare, volunteer fire brigades, research… The donation is deducted from the donor's income, up to 10% of that income, and the saving can reach 50% of the donation, depending on their income. There is no receipt: after their donation, the donor can give their first name, last name and date of birth, and the association sends the tax office the total of their donations for the year before the end of February. Donoor prepares this list every year.

Where does the donation money go?

To your association's Stripe account, then to its bank account. Donoor never holds the funds.

How do I sign up my association?

Create your association's account on Donoor and enter its ZVR number (9 or 10 digits): Donoor finds its entry in the register. Then connect Stripe to receive payments. PayPal is not yet available in Austria.

Can a religious association (mosque, church, synagogue…) make its donations tax-deductible?

Not for worship: Austrian law excludes religious purposes from the deduction for donations; what is deductible is the compulsory contribution to a recognised church or religion, up to €600 a year. A separate association whose activity is mainly social, charitable or educational can, however, be on the Ministry of Finance list. In every case, a religious association collects its donations with Donoor in the same way: EPS, card, QR codes and Tap to Pay.
