How do I receive and present my ticket?
As soon as your registration is recorded (free ticket) or your payment is accepted (paid ticket), you receive a confirmation email with your ticket attached, as a PDF, with a unique QR code. Nothing to print: this QR code can be shown directly from your phone on the day of the event.
This article explains what that email contains, whether you need to print your ticket, where to find it if you have lost it, and what its status means.
The confirmation email
Each participant receives a PDF ticket showing the name of the event, the date, the venue, their own ticket number and their own QR code. If several tickets were bought in a single order for different people, each person receives a separate email containing only their ticket, provided their email address was entered separately at the time of purchase; otherwise, the person who paid receives all the tickets in the order.
On the eve of the event, at 9 a.m. (the time zone of the organising association), a reminder email is sent automatically, with the date, the venue and your ticket number.
Do you need to print your ticket?
No, this is not necessary: your ticket is entirely digital. Its QR code, displayed on your phone screen, is enough for entry. You may still print it if you prefer to have a paper copy: simply print the PDF received by email on an ordinary sheet of paper. Both formats, screen and paper, are accepted in the same way at the entrance.
Good to know: at the entrance, the QR code is checked live by the volunteer welcoming you, which requires an internet connection on their side. The details are explained in does check-in at the entrance require an internet connection.
Finding your ticket in your donor area
If you have lost the email, or if you would prefer to find everything in one place, your ticket remains accessible in your donor area, created automatically with the email address used at purchase. It also brings together your other events, your donations and your memberships.
- Open dashboard.donoor.org and request your login link using that same email address (no password needed; details in how to create, recover and edit my donor account).
- Open the Events tab: the My events page lists all your tickets.
- Filter by All, Upcoming, Ended, Attended, Cancelled or Refunded, or search by event name, participant name or order number.
- On the ticket card, click Ticket to open it in a new tab, or PDF to download it.
From the ticket opened online, an Add to calendar button adds the date of the event directly to your calendar, and an Edit my information link lets you correct your name or email.
Tip: if you registered several people in the same order (children, for example), you can find all their tickets from your own donor area, even if they do not have one themselves.
Understanding your ticket status
Whether you open it from the email you received or from your donor area, your ticket always shows an up-to-date status.
| Status shown | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Valid | The ticket is ready; entry has not yet been recorded. | Nothing to do: present it on the day. |
| Used | The ticket has already been used for entry. | Nothing to do on your side; contact the association if this is an error. |
| Awaiting payment | The payment has not yet been confirmed: the QR code is not yet available. | Complete the payment if you were asked to take action. |
| Cancelled | The ticket has been cancelled, for example after the event was cancelled. | Check your emails for the next steps taken by the association (refund, postponement). |
| Refunded | The ticket has been refunded. | The ticket is no longer valid for entry. |
Have you received nothing?
If the confirmation email does not arrive:
- check your junk or spam folder;
- check the email address given when you registered or purchased;
- log in to your donor area with that same address to find the ticket directly.
If the ticket still does not appear, contact the association organising the event: it manages registrations and can check your order, for example if a typing error crept into the email address entered at purchase. If you need a refund, see how to get a refund for a donation, a ticket or a membership.
Key takeaways
- Your ticket arrives by email as a PDF, with a QR code, as soon as you register or pay.
- There is nothing to print: the QR code works just as well on a phone.
- You can find it at any time in your donor area, under the Events tab.
- Its status (Valid, Used, Cancelled, Refunded…) shows where your ticket stands.
- If you cannot find the email, contact the association organising the event.
