Where can I find my membership card or certificate?

Your membership card, which also serves as a certificate, is sent to you by email as a PDF as soon as your membership is paid or confirmed by the association. You can then find it at any time in your donor area, under the Memberships section.

This article explains where to retrieve it depending on when you need it, what to do if you can no longer find it, and how to read its status.

Straight after your membership

As soon as the payment is accepted, or as soon as the association confirms your request if it does so first, you receive a confirmation email with your membership card attached, in PDF format, including its QR code. On the confirmation page that follows your payment, a Download my up-to-date card with QR code button lets you retrieve it straight away, without waiting for the email. You can show this card on your phone or print it on a plain sheet of paper: both formats are accepted.

In your donor area

Your donor area was created automatically using the email address provided when you joined, so there is no need to register in advance.

  1. Open dashboard.donoor.org.
  2. On the Donor area screen, enter that same email address and click Receive my sign-in link.
  3. Open the link you receive by email, which is valid for 15 minutes.
  4. Open the Memberships tab: you will find all your memberships there, with a Card button to open it in a new tab and a PDF button to download it.

A search bar and filters (Active, Pending, Expired, Cancelled) help you find a specific membership if you have several, for example for your whole family.

Good to know: this area also brings together your donations, event tickets and shop orders: a single sign-in to find everything.

If you cannot find your card

Try these simple checks first:

  • Look in your spam or junk folder, in case the confirmation email has not reached your main inbox.
  • Make sure you sign in to your donor area with the email address used for the membership: a different address will find nothing.
  • If you joined on behalf of several people using different email addresses, each one received their own card at their own address.

If the membership still does not appear, or if its status has changed, contact the association directly: it can resend your card from its member record, to the address of your choice.

Important: if your membership has been cancelled, the Card and PDF buttons disappear from your donor area; instead, the message Cancelled membership — card not valid is displayed (or Refunded membership: the card is no longer valid. if the cancellation comes with a full refund). A partial refund, however, does not cancel the membership: the card remains valid.

Understanding the status shown on your card

Your card contains a personal QR code: when scanned (by you or by the association), it opens a page that always shows the up-to-date status, with the wording Verified by Donoor.

What is displayedWhat it meansWhat to do
Active membershipYour membership is currently valid.Nothing to do: your card is up to date.
Expired membershipThe end date of your membership has passed.Renew your membership to receive a new card.
Awaiting paymentYour membership is recorded, but the payment has not yet been completed.Complete the payment requested by the association.
Cancelled membershipThe membership has been cancelled by the association.Contact the association if you believe this is an error.
Card not foundThe link or QR code does not match any card.Retrieve the card from your donor area or your confirmation email.

Renewal gives you a new card

When you renew your membership, a new membership is created: you receive a new card, with a new number and a new QR code. The old card is not updated: it will show Expired membership from its end date. It is therefore the new card that you should show afterwards, for example at the entrance to an event reserved for members. Details of renewal are explained in how membership renewal works.

To find out everything about the card's contents and how it is verified, see how the digital membership card works. To join a new association, see how to join an association via Donoor.

Tip: keep your card on your phone (in the PDF received by email or in your donor area): you will need it every time you attend, so there is nothing to reprint between visits.
