How do I create my association's public web page?
Every association registered on Donoor already has its public page, created automatically when you sign up at donoor.org/associations/ followed by your identifier: all that is left to do is fill it in. It brings together in one place your association's introduction, its news, photos, testimonials, and all your ongoing fundraisers, events, memberships and shops.
It is free, with no subscription and no hosting fees, and it is managed entirely from My public page, in the dashboard menu, without any technical skills.
Where your page is, and who can edit it
To fill it in, log in to your dashboard and click My public page. A left-hand column lists the sections to set up: General, Introduction, Contact and hours, News, Gallery, Testimonials, Documents, FAQ and Settings. Open a section, edit it, check the result in Preview, then click Save in the blue bar at the top of the page.
By default, only the owner and the administrators of the association can edit the page; other team members cannot, unless you adjust their permissions. For a complete step-by-step guide, follow the free course Create your public page.
Tip: if your association's name is written entirely in Arabic or in another non-Latin alphabet, the automatically generated address may be a generic identifier. In the Your public page banner, click Edit to choose a more meaningful address (lower-case letters, numbers and hyphens, 3 characters minimum), then confirm the change.
Filling in the essential information
In General, add a Cover image in banner format (1400 × 400 px), choose your association's Theme — used by default for your fundraisers, events, memberships and shops —, write your Description and enter a public contact email address.
In Introduction, add a Welcome message, a YouTube introduction video if you have one, and links to your website and social media accounts.
Hours, documents and FAQ
- In Contact and hours, turn on the display of Opening hours and enter, day by day, the opening and closing times.
- In Documents, add the files your visitors should be able to download: articles of association, programme, internal rules.
- In FAQ, add the questions you are asked most often: registration, prices, access, hours.
Keeping your page alive: news, gallery, testimonials
A page that is kept up to date inspires confidence. In News, publish a title, text and an image for each item: a past event, a completed project, a thank-you. In Gallery, add photos of your premises, your volunteers and your activities. In Testimonials, add words from donors, volunteers or beneficiaries.
| Section | What you add | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Gallery | Photos of the association | 6 photos, 5 MB each |
| Testimonials | Name, role and text, with an optional photo | 10 testimonials, photo 5 MB |
| Documents | Articles of association, programme, rules… | 10 MB per file (PDF or image) |
| News | Title, text and image per item | Image: 5 MB, 16:9 format |
Good to know: associations that complete at least 5 of the 6 content sections (description, news, gallery, testimonials, documents, FAQ) receive on average 3 times more donations than those that leave their page empty, according to the figures Donoor itself displays in the dashboard.
Receiving donations directly from your page
Yes: your page displays a Support button, which stays visible during the visit and opens your donation page. Payment is processed by Stripe or PayPal, and the money goes directly into your association's account: Donoor never holds it. Your ongoing fundraisers, events, memberships and shops also appear automatically on the page, with nothing to add. To create your first collection, read how to create an online fundraiser.
Is your page listed on Google?
It is designed to be: the title, the description and the information shown in search results are generated automatically from what you have filled in. If you entered your RNA or SIRET number when you signed up, its statutory purpose already counts as a description: your page can therefore be indexable from the start.
However, a page with no published fundraiser, event or membership, and with a description of fewer than 80 characters, is deliberately not offered to search engines, in order to protect the quality of search indexing across the whole site. Fill in at least your description, or publish a first collection, so that your page becomes indexable. Then use in your description the words your visitors actually search for: the type of association, the town, the activities; and share the link to your page on your Google Business Profile, your social media and your emails. To go further, follow the Being found on Google module of the Public page course.
Important: if you change your page's address, the old link will stop working and will show an error. Change it before printing it on a poster or flyer, not after.
Once your public page is ready, it becomes the ideal starting point for organising a specific collection, for example a donation collection for a mosque.
