How do I create an online shop for my association?
You create your shop from your dashboard, add your products with their photos and prices, complete the mandatory information, then publish it: a few minutes is enough, with no technical skills required. Your shop receives its own web address, which you share by email, by WhatsApp, on your social media, or embed directly into the pages of your website.
It is used to fund your projects: T-shirts and scarves in the association's colours, chocolates or year-end calendars, books, workshop creations, or products sold at a fête. It costs your association nothing: no subscription, and no Donoor commission on your sales.
Create your shop
To create a shop, your association must have given you the right to do so: if the button does not appear, ask a manager to enable it in the team settings.
- In the menu, open Shop, then click Create a shop.
- Enter a Shop name and click Continue: it is created as a draft, at an address such as donoor.org/boutique/your-shop.
- You arrive on its management page, organised into sections: Info, Products, Settings, Delivery, Orders, Stats and Preview.
- In Info, add a banner, a description and, if needed, a colour theme different from your association's (it uses the association's theme by default).
As long as you have not clicked Publish, the shop remains a draft: no one other than you can see it, and you can change everything freely. Step-by-step video: training Create your shop.
Add your products
In Products, click Add a product. Three fields are enough to get started: a photo, a name and a price.
- Add up to 6 photos: the first serves as the cover on the storefront.
- Choose a pricing mode: Fixed price, Free price (the buyer chooses their amount, with a minimum if you set one) or Free.
- Describe the product: material, dimensions, care instructions, and what the proceeds from the sale will be used for.
Each additional setting only appears if you need it: a product with no sizes or colours asks you for nothing more. In the advanced settings, you can also group your products into categories so that buyers can filter the storefront, limit the number of items a single buyer can take in one order and, if your association is subject to VAT, display a VAT rate. Finally, you can sell a digital product: a PDF, ePub, ZIP, MP3, WAV, JPG or PNG file of 50 MB maximum, which the buyer downloads via a link received after payment, without ever accessing the original file. Step-by-step video: training Add your products.
Can I sell products in several sizes or colours?
Yes. Tick I offer several sizes or colours, then click Add an option to declare a variation axis (for example Size, with the values S, M, L); add a second axis if needed, for example Colour. Donoor then automatically generates each combination in a table, where you set for each one its Quantity in stock (empty = unlimited), its price if you want it to vary, and its reference. On the storefront, the buyer chooses their size and colour from a selector, and the remaining stock updates in real time, without reloading the page.
Tip: set Notify me below a certain number for each product: an email alerts your team as soon as a variation becomes scarce, before it sells out completely.
Set the mandatory information before publishing
In Settings, complete two items required by law to sell online to individuals: your terms and conditions of sale (upload your own PDF, or adopt the template Donoor offers, pre-filled with your association's details) and the details of your Consumer mediator (name and website), as the law requires any association selling online to be a member of one. Without these two items, publication remains blocked. To find out more about an association's right to sell products, see can an association sell products?
In this same section, you also choose whether the shop is public or reserved for people who have the link (Private shop), whether the remaining stock is displayed on the storefront, and any promo codes you may have.
Can I open a shop only for a seasonal sale?
Yes, that is the principle of the Seasonal shop: in Settings, enter a Sales start and a Sales end. Outside this period, the storefront remains visible, but purchasing is closed. This suits a sale of chocolates or year-end calendars, or a fête. You can also close sales manually at any time with Close sales, without waiting for a date, then reopen them whenever you wish. An association can manage several shops at the same time, for example a permanent shop and a seasonal shop.
Publish and share your shop
- Once your products are added and your delivery methods are set, click Publish.
- Share its address by email, by WhatsApp or on your social media, or copy its link from the shop.
- You can also Embed on my website if your association has a web page.
Important: if a mandatory piece of information is missing, Donoor flags it and gives you a button to complete it at the moment of publication.
Good to know: the shop takes no commission on your sales. Only the fees of the payment provider (Stripe or PayPal) apply, and the buyer may, if they wish, add an optional contribution to Donoor when paying, without reducing what your association receives. Details in Is Donoor really free?
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Draft | Public page inaccessible; you can change everything freely before publication |
| Live | Public page accessible and purchases open |
| Closed | Storefront still visible, but no further purchases possible; reversible at any time |
| Archived | Shop hidden from the dashboard and the public; reversible, it returns to draft |
