What is Donoor?
Donoor is a French donation collection and membership management platform, free for organisations. It brings together QR codes, Fundraisers, Payment link, Tap to Pay, Ticketing, Memberships, the online Shop and the organisation's My public page in a single dashboard. Every donation goes directly to the organisation's Stripe or PayPal account: Donoor never holds your funds.
It is open to all French organisations, whatever their size or field: mosques and religious associations, sports clubs, cultural associations, parent-teacher associations (APE, APEL), local humanitarian associations…
Who is Donoor for?
Donoor is designed for associations registered under the 1901 law and religious associations under the 1905 law, as well as foundations, endowment funds and associations under local law in Alsace-Moselle. In practice these are very different organisations: a neighbourhood mosque, a football club, a choir, a parent-teacher association or a foundation can all use the same tools.
When you sign up, Donoor finds your organisation using its name, its RNA number (Répertoire National des Associations) or its SIRET number, in the State's public register. The RNA number begins with the letter W followed by 9 digits; it is assigned by the associations registry of the prefecture when the organisation is declared, and appears on the receipt (récépissé) given to the organisation. Organisations based in Alsace-Moselle do not have an RNA number: they identify themselves with their SIRET number, as foundations and endowment funds do.
Good to know: your organisation is not yet declared, or you can't find it in the register? Click I can't find my organisation to enter its name yourself. A collective or a project that is not yet declared can also create a Donoor account.
The money goes directly to your organisation
With Donoor, your donations never pass through a Donoor account. Once Stripe or PayPal is connected, each payment is collected directly into the organisation's account with that provider, which then transfers the money to its bank account. Details of payout timings are explained in When do I receive donations?
Everything you can do with Donoor
A single dashboard brings together all the fundraising tools, accessible from the menu on the left:
| Tool | What it allows |
|---|---|
| QR codes | Collect donations scanned from a poster, a stall or an object |
| Fundraisers | Collect for a specific project, with or without a target amount |
| Payment link | Share a donation link by text message, WhatsApp or email, or embed it on a website |
| Ticketing | Sell tickets for an event and check entries |
| Memberships | Sell membership fees and issue digital membership cards |
| Shop | Sell products online, for collection or delivery |
| Tap to Pay | Take card payments directly on an iPhone or Android phone, without a payment terminal |
| My public page | Present the organisation and bring all its fundraising tools together on a single page |
| Fundraising and Payouts | Track donations, donors and the arrival of money in your account |
For eligible organisations that have activated it, each online donation also automatically generates a tax receipt (Cerfa 11580), sent by email to the donor. The eligibility conditions are explained in How do tax receipts work?
Do you need to be comfortable with computers to use it?
No. Creating the account takes a few minutes, and each following step (connecting Stripe or PayPal, creating your first fundraiser or your first QR code) is explained step by step in the dashboard. A free training course also supports the organisation from sign-up through to the first payout. If you get stuck, the Donoor team replies by email, on WhatsApp or during a scheduled call, usually within 24 hours.
Tip: the Getting started with Donoor course shows each step on video, then explains it in writing: creating the organisation's account, connecting Stripe or PayPal, and getting to grips with the dashboard.
How much does it cost?
Donoor is free for organisations: no subscription, and no Donoor commission on your donations. Only the fees of your payment provider (Stripe or PayPal) apply, and your donors can choose to cover them. The full workings are explained in Is Donoor really free?
