Scan tickets at the entrance with a simple iPhone or Android phone. Real-time counter, protection against double scans, several scanners at once. No card terminal, no hardware to rent. Eventbrite and Billetweb charge for hardware for the same need.
Billetweb, Eventbrite and Yurplan hold back your funds until the end of your event (cash flow frozen for weeks). Donoor pays out continuously via Stripe Connect or PayPal: you pay your suppliers out of the ticket sales themselves.
Adult, child, member, companion – plus menu options, numbered seats, multiple sessions, quotas against overselling, promo codes. Everything is included, unlimited, with no pricing plan or licence per module.
200 tickets at €30 (€6,000 in ticket sales). On Eventbrite Essential (6.95% + €0.99), the organiser pays €615 in fixed fees and has to wait until the end of the gala to receive the funds. On Donoor, the money arrives continuously and no platform commission applies: buyers cover bank fees at 80%.
For an organisation that wants to maximise its revenue: Donoor is the most profitable solution. 0% commission for the organisation, funds go directly to your account via Stripe Connect or PayPal (non-custodial), native QR code check-in, automatic tax receipts. As with HelloAsso, an optional tip is suggested to the buyer to fund the platform (editable, €0 possible). For 100 tickets at €15, you keep €1,500 vs €1,379 with Eventbrite (-€121 per 100 tickets).
When to prefer Billetweb: If you organise just one event a year and simplicity matters more than cost. Billetweb is very simple and its rate (1% + €0.29) remains reasonable. You will keep around €5 for every €100 collected.
When to prefer HelloAsso: If the brand's reputation reassures your audience (especially for mass-market charity galas). You will pay around 10% of turnover as a “voluntary” tip.
When to prefer Eventbrite: Only for an event with high international visibility (techno festival, global tech conference). For a French organisation event, Eventbrite offers no advantage over Donoor or Billetweb.
When to prefer Yurplan: For festivals or events with physical access control (RFID wristbands, badges). Yurplan has genuine expertise in these use cases, but its rate (2% above €30) makes it expensive for small events.
Donoor charges the organisation 0% commission. Like HelloAsso, Donoor asks the buyer for a tip at checkout to fund the platform: it is pre-filled but always editable and can be reduced to €0. Donoor's real differentiator lies elsewhere: funds go directly to the organisation's bank account via Stripe Connect or PayPal (non-custodial model), with no held treasury and no payout delay. The only fees charged are those of the payment provider, Stripe or PayPal (~1.5% + €0.25 per transaction), covered by around 80% of buyers. For a €20 ticket, the organisation receives ~€20 with Donoor (buyer covers the fees), ~€17-19 with HelloAsso (depending on the tip accepted), €19.21 with Billetweb, €17.62 with Eventbrite, €19.51 with Yurplan.
Eventbrite is an international American platform (listed on the stock market) that must generate a substantial margin for its shareholders. Its Essential rate of 6.95% + €0.99 is 7 times more expensive than Billetweb (1% + €0.29) and far more expensive than Donoor (0%). Eventbrite is only relevant if you are looking for international editorial visibility (techno festivals, global conferences), not for local organisation events.
All the platforms in the comparison are free for free events, as that is their acquisition strategy. The criterion then becomes features: QR code check-in, reminder emails, team management. Donoor offers all of that for free. HelloAsso does too. Billetweb and Eventbrite too. The choice comes down to the ecosystem: if your organisation uses Donoor for donations and memberships, it makes sense to centralise ticketing with Donoor too.
Donoor runs on a different business model: we charge the organisation NO commission on tickets sold. We are funded by an optional tip suggested to the buyer (pre-filled but editable, and can be reduced to €0) and by optional premium services (physical donation terminals, personalised support, training). Since we take nothing from your organisation, you have no obligation towards us. Your funds go directly to your account via Stripe Connect or PayPal (non-custodial model). It is a choice that aligns our interests with those of organisations.
You download the Donoor app on your iPhone or Android. At the entrance, you scan the QR code of each ticket (shown by the attendee on their phone or printed). The scan validates the ticket, updates the counter in real time and prevents any double check-in. Several team members can scan simultaneously from their phones. Free, with no additional hardware.
Yes, on Donoor a refund takes just one click from your dashboard. If the participant paid by card, the refund goes directly back to their card (3–5 days depending on the bank). You can refund all or part of an order, and ticket inventory is automatically restored.
None. Donoor is free with no limits: create as many events and tickets as you like. No pricing plans, no upgrades, no small print.
