3 reasons to choose Donoor

No “all or nothing”

On Ulule and KissKissBankBank, if you don't reach 100% of the goal, you receive nothing. On Donoor (“keep-it-all” model), you keep 100% of what is collected, whatever the goal.

No campaign limited to 30 days

Ulule/KKBB impose 30–90-day campaigns (urgency effect). Donoor keeps your fundraiser open for as long as you wish. Ideal for annual drives, Ramadan, school fairs, ongoing projects.

Tiered rewards

Stickers, T-shirts, VIP invitations, private evening: create your price tiers with rewards, and the donor chooses their level. You handle the shipping, Donoor handles the collection.

Real case

A cultural project run by an organisation

Goal of €8,000 over 45 days (creation of a show). On Ulule (8% by card), the organisation pays €640 in fees. On Donoor, these €640 stay in the production budget, enough to rent the performance venue.

Our verdict

Why choose Donoor (and when to prefer another)

For an organisation that wants to maximise the funds it raises: Donoor remains the most profitable choice. 0% commission, no all-or-nothing (you keep everything, even below the goal), no time limit. For €10,000 raised, you receive about €9,850 with Donoor vs €9,200–9,500 with Ulule vs €9,200 with KissKissBankBank.

When to prefer Ulule: If your project is highly visible (artistic, creative, with strong viral potential) AND you want the urgency effect of all-or-nothing to mobilise people. Ulule has a genuine community of supporters (around 5 million users). You pay 5–8% in exchange for this editorial visibility.

When to prefer KissKissBankBank: For cultural or music projects with European ambitions. KKBB has a strong reputation in the arts scene. 8% in fees, but with editorial support.

When to prefer HelloAsso: If you are looking for sector recognition (a go-to associative reference for over 10 years) and accept the roughly 10% “voluntary” tip that is in practice collected.

For a mosque, a school or a sports club: Donoor, without hesitation. The all-or-nothing model of Ulule/KKBB makes no sense for organisations that collect continuously (Ramadan, school fair, tournament). Donoor lets you collect permanently and keep everything.

Frequently asked questions

Why is Donoor cheaper than Ulule or KissKissBankBank?

Ulule and KKBB are editorially curated platforms, with a team that selects and supports projects, which explains their fees (5-8%). Donoor is a self-service platform: you create your page in 5 minutes, with no editorial approval. This lighter model makes it possible to be free. In return, you do not benefit from the editorial promotion offered by Ulule/KKBB.

What is the “all or nothing” model, and why doesn't Donoor offer it?

All-or-nothing (used by Ulule and KKBB): if your target is not reached in full, contributors are refunded and you receive NOTHING. It is a committing system (urgency effect) but a risky one: 60% of campaigns do not reach their target. Donoor prefers the “keep-it-all” model: you keep 100% of what is raised, even if you aimed for €10,000 and only collected €3,000. This is more reassuring for small organisations.

My project is highly visible (artistic, technological): where should I launch it?

If you are looking for the editorial visibility of a community platform (a mention in a newsletter with 500K subscribers, specialist press), Ulule or KKBB may be worth it despite their 5-8% fees. If your project already has its own community (social networks, mailing list), Donoor is more cost-effective: you keep everything, and you do not need the Ulule/KKBB community.

Can Donoor offer rewards (tiered rewards)?

Yes. You create “price options” matching each tier (€10 = sticker, €50 = T-shirt, €200 = evening invitation). Contributors choose their option when they donate. You handle sending the rewards yourself (Donoor does not handle logistics). For an organisation, this is more than sufficient.

How long does a campaign last on Donoor?

No limit. On Ulule/KKBB, your campaign lasts 30-90 days and then ends (all-or-nothing). On Donoor, your fundraiser remains active for as long as you wish: you can collect for years, update the target, and so on.

How do you receive the funds raised on Donoor?

Funds are paid directly into your organisation's bank account via Stripe Connect or PayPal (generally within 2-7 days of each transaction). You have nothing to do: no withdrawal to request, no minimum threshold, no inactivity fees. This “non-custodial” model is what sets Donoor apart.
